The Congressional Academic Medicine Caucus (CAMC) is an informal, bipartisan group of Members of Congress dedicated to maintaining and strengthening our nation’s reputation as having the world’s most advanced medical care.
The CAMC strives to educate other Congressional Members on the unique health care, research, and training missions of teaching hospitals and medical schools. The CAMC is a Congressional Member Organization, which was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on House Administration on October 7, 2009.

She is well-known for her advocacy of comprehensive insurance coverage, including preventive and cost-effective interventions.
