The Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators (AOGME), formerly known as the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME), is a professional group of AACOM. AOGME consists of professionals working in osteopathic graduate medical education. The purpose of the assembly is to strengthen and develop the medical education continuum in accordance with the osteopathic philosophy by:
- Supporting leadership and professional development for those engaged in graduate medical education (GME)
- Fostering excellence in the clinical learning environment; and
- Assisting in the development of new community-based GME programs
AOGME will provide leadership and tools to assist osteopathic educators in developing physicians who achieve excellence in patient care. We are committed to supporting our members as they strive each day to serve the osteopathic profession in every aspect of their education.
AOGME represents members from many medical education environments:
Within these settings, AOGME members work as Designated Institutional Officials (DIOs), Directors of Medical Education (DMEs), Program Directors, Deans, Academic and Clinical Faculty, Academic and Administrative Officers, and Administrative Employees.
