Osteopathic Recognition Programs: How to Use Osteopathic Milestones and Benchmarks Programmatically

With the progression to the next accreditation system, a higher level of integration of osteopathic educational evaluations into previously allopathic processes is anticipated. Growth of osteopathic skills during residency is an important educational goal for osteopathic medical school graduates as well as the ability to adequately evaluate this growth. The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s residency programs received dual accreditation in 2002 and Osteopathic Recognition in July 2015. The aim of this webinar will be to introduce some best practices in osteopathic educational evaluation of osteopathic residents through newer ACGME processes such as:
- Introduction of osteopathic education to local program evaluation committees
An approach to preparation for a site visit by ACGME for Osteopathic Recognition will also be reviewed.
