University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine
Undergraduate Studies: BS in Mechanical Engineering, University of Rochester
“My love of science led me to a degree in engineering. Through my undergraduate studies, I learned to apply scientific, economic, social and practical knowledge, which formed the basis for my transition to osteopathic medicine. I value the principle of looking at health through a larger prism; treating individuals, and not just their symptoms.
“I love the challenge of combining clinical treatment with preventive medicine. And, it is a privilege to be equipped to use our hands as an additional tool to assist with diagnosing and treating patients as we encourage the body’s ability to self-heal.
“Although I had to uproot my husband and two children, UNECOM’s patient-centered approach to care and its environment of genuine support, along with the beauty of Maine, made the decision to move my family an easy one.”
