Submission Deadline: September 16, 2011
The Call for Presentations is now closed.
The 2012 AACOM Annual Meeting Planning Committee invites submission of Presentations and Posters for the 2012 Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting will focus on Building Healthy Behaviors: Medical Education for Prevention and Change, with sessions that explore how best to transform future physicians into change agents who can have real and lasting impact on the behaviors of their patients.
Among the issues to be explored:
- Graduating physicians who are prepared to confront and combat with their patients such destructive epidemics as obesity and its associated illnesses;
- Teaching students how interprofessional collaboration can help them have the greatest possible positive effect when working with patients on prevention and behavioral change;
- Infusing innovations in prevention and behavioral change throughout the medical school curriculum and experience;
- Advocating for state and federal policies aimed at prevention.
Peer-Reviewed Program Sessions will be of two types/lengths:
- 60-minute Presentation/Workshop
- 20-minute Brief Presentation
In addition, there will be a Peer-Reviewed Poster Session. Two poster awards will be presented at the Awards Banquet on Friday evening:
- Peer reviewers will select the one best poster abstract.
- Attendee feedback will identify a viewers’ award.
The posters will be presented initially at the Opening Reception on Wednesday evening and remain inside the Exhibit Hall through mid-day Friday, offering attendees the opportunity to submit their ballot for the 'best' poster.
