In conjunction with its 2010 Annual Meeting, to be held April 7-10, 2010 in Bethesda, Maryland, the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) will host a Health Professions Fair featuring Free Workshops led by renowned medical school admission directors. Information for Attendees
Open to all high school and college students, parents, pre-health advisors, school guidance counselors, administrators and others interested in learning more about health professions educational opportunities and careers. This is a great opportunity to meet a variety of admission officers from various health professions schools.
Participants will learn:
- How to apply to medical school or other health professions education programs
- How to write a successful personal statement
- What current medical students have to say about their experiences
- Interview techniques, through facilitated mock interviews
- Much more that will help in preparing for a career in the health professions
Participants will meet one-on-one with a wide variety of health professions admission officers, current medical students and administrators who will be able to answer questions about their academic programs, summer offerings, financial aid and much more throughout the fair and workshops.
A series of six workshops on various topics will be presented in 30 minute sessions in the lower level of the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center. Two sessions will run concurrently.
