IPEC Opens Applications for Collaboration Award and Registration for Spring 2018 Institute

2018 Public Health Excellence in Interprofessional Education Collaboration Award

The United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and IPEC just launched the online application for the 2018 Public Health Excellence in Interprofessional Education Collaboration Award. In its second year, the Fall 2017-Spring 2018 USPHS IPEC Award presents an opportunity to showcase multidisciplinary efforts to impact community health. We are now accepting applications from IPE teams. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 2, 2018. Applicants will be notified on their status by Thursday, March 15, 2018.

One overall National Awardee will be selected and present their award in person at the June 26, 2018 IPEC Council Meeting in Washington, DC. A webinar series or continuing education publication will be developed from selected project/topic areas. Similar to last year, Honorable Mentions will also be awarded to one applicant in each of five categories: (1) Health Communications & Health Technology, (2) Behavioral Health, (3) Public Health Infrastructure, (4) Community Empowerment and Education, and (5) Injury and Violence Prevention/Physical Safety.

Spring 2018 IPEC Institute

IPEC is pleased to announce the next IPEC Faculty Development Institute. The Spring 2018 IPEC Institute will be held Monday, April 30, to Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the AAMC Learning Center in Washington, DC.

The Spring 2018 IPEC Institute is a “101” themed meeting that will return to the popular topic of foundational IPE. The meeting will be based on IPEC’s five building block approach and will feature sessions on the following topics:

  • Theory Burst #1: Planning for Successful IPE
  • Theory Burst #2: Building Learning upon IPEC’s Core Competencies
  • Theory Burst #3: Designing Effective Learning Experiences
  • Theory Burst #4: Assessing Learners & Evaluating Your Program
  • Panel Presentation (featuring an exemplar IPE team consisting of at least 2 speakers representing different health professions)
