(Feb 25, 2015) The Veterans Health Administration’s Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA), which oversees the design, implementation and monitoring of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)’s graduate medical education (GME) expansion plan, is making a new resource available to the osteopathic medical education community. As a result of questions received from our community and other stakeholders, the OAA has authored frequently asked questions (FAQs) on the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act (VACAA), click here to access the FAQs.
The OAA will announce a formal request for proposals (RFP) for the next round of VACAA in late-spring or early summer of 2015. As a follow-up to these FAQs and in preparation for the upcoming RFP, OAA will hold an informational conference call for the osteopathic medical education community on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:00am ET. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for additional details.
The OAA continues to offer its assistance to facilitate conversations with local VA facilities and the osteopathic medical education community, as needed. Interested parties should contact Dr. Judy L. Brannen, Judy.Brannen@va.gov or 804-675-5481.
