Gerald G. Osborn, DO, MPhil, has been named Senior Vice President for Cognitive Testing at the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) effective mid-July 2011. In this newly created position, Dr. Osborn will be responsible for leadership of NBOME’s cognitive testing department and oversight of NBOME’s cognitive examinations, including those in the COMLEX-USA licensure series, COMAT subject examination series, COMSAE self-evaluation examination, and COMVEX re-licensure examination, as well as the numerous multiple choice examinations currently produced for board certification and resident in-service examination purposes.
Dr. Osborn currently is Associate Dean for International Medicine, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, and Director of Behavioral Neurosciences at Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM). He previously served as Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he worked at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Human Medicine for 26 years in numerous capacities.
Dr. Osborn served as a member of the NBOME’s Board of Directors for more than a decade, and was President and Chair of the Board from 1997 to 1999.
