Osteopathic medical students who are interested in health policy and would like to gain first-hand experience in Washington, DC, are encouraged to apply now for AACOM’s 2011 Osteopathic Health Policy Intern (OHPI) Program. The deadline to submit applications for the program, which enables up to three current students to spend two months with the AACOM government relations team, is February 28, 2011.
Student interns will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of health policy development and implementation, meet with federal agency officials, attend hearings on Capitol Hill, conduct research on health policy and complete a research paper on their chosen topic. AACOM provides interns a stipend and makes every practical effort to identify the two-month period that works best for each individual.
