Campbell Announces Founding Dean for Proposed COM
Campbell University has named John M. Kauffman Jr., DO, as Founding Dean of the university’s proposed college of osteopathic medicine. Dr. Kauffman has been a medical educator for the past 17 years, most recently serving as Associate Dean for Postgraduate Affairs and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Affairs at the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Virginia and Carolinas campuses. The proposed COM plans on opening its doors in August 2013.
Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences Selects New Provost and Dean
Kayse M. Shrum, DO, FACOP, has been named Provost and Dean of the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Shrum has been at OSU for eight years, serving as a faculty member, clinician and administrator, and most recently as Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chair of Pediatrics.
WVSOM Board of Governors Appoints New President
Michael D. Adelman, DO, JD, has been named the sixth President of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Adelman has been serving as the Acting President for the past nine months, and previously served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean since 2002. Dr. Adelman served as Chair of the AACOM Board of Deans from 2008 to 2010, and was recently elected President of the West Virginia State Society of Osteopathic Medicine
WCU-COM Interim Dean Named Darrell E. Lovins, DO, MPH, FACOFP, has been named Interim Dean at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Lovins previously served as Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences at WCU-COM.
