The Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural and Minority Medicine is holding the Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Equity Summit August 22 – 23, 2011 at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, DC. The summit will bring together world class leaders in health care delivery and health disparity research who will present compelling results-driven models, progress reports and future mandates. The third biennial Collaborating Across Borders (CAB) Conference, Interprofessional Collaboration: From Concept to Preparation to Practice, will be held November 19 – 21 in Tucson, Arizona. The conference will focus on common issues surrounding interprofessional education and practice. AACOM President and CEO Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH, is serving on the CAB III Advisory Board. AACOM is a conference sponsor, as are all other Interprofessional Education Collaborative members.

At the CAB conference, educators, clinicians, researchers, policy makers and students from the United States and Canada will meet to discuss interprofessional education, practice and policy in a national and global context by examining best practices, providing evidence that supports efforts, showcasing outcomes and describing lessons learned.
