National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME) Invites 2012 Applications

AACOM’s 2012 National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME) application process is now open. Osteopathic medical educators are invited to review the NAOME web materials, which are designed to facilitate the creation and submission of a mini educational portfolio, and to submit their application before the February 16, 2012, deadline. The self-nomination form will be activated on the NAOME website shortly.

NAOME is a community of outstanding educators (termed Fellows) who have met rigorous standards of academic excellence within the last five years.  Membership is earned (and can be renewed) for five-year intervals, during which Fellows are asked to mentor and support academic excellence and scholarship in the osteopathic medical education profession.

Standards and processes for determining NAOME membership closely reflect osteopathic medical education teaching/learning models, including the integration of osteopathic principles and practices.

You are strongly encouraged to touch base with a NAOME mentor before submitting your electronic application form, which must include your portfolio and your CV.  This information will also be posted on AACOM’s website. Click here to view a list of current NAOME fellows.
