New Dean Takes Helm at ATSU-KCOM
Margaret Wilson, DO, was recently named Dean at A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM), effective May 1, 2012. Dr. Wilson had been Chair of ATSU-KCOM’s Department of Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Community Health since 1995, and is an alumnus of the college. She will continue to serve as a professor of Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Community Health. Dr. Wilson replaced Interim Dean Jeff Suzewits, DO.
ATSU-SOMA Names New Dean
A.T. Still University-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) has announced the appointment of Kay Kalousek, DO, MS, as Dean, effective July 1, 2012. Dr. Kalousek is currently Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at Western University of Health Sciences/ College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (WesternU/COMP) in Pomona, CA. She also is the first WesternU/COMP alumnus to become a medical school dean. She will be replacing Interim Dean Thomas McWilliams, DO, FACOFP.
KCUMB-COM Announces Upcoming Leadership Change
Darin Haug, DO, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB) Executive Vice President of Academic and Medical Affairs, and Dean of the KCUMB College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCUMB-COM), has announced that he will be stepping down, effective September 1, 2012. Dr. Haug, who has spent the last four years as KCUMB-COM Dean, will be returning to Marshall, MO, to fill the role of Chief Medical Officer at Fitzgibbon Hospital. A national search for Dr. Haug’s successor is currently underway.
