AACOM will accept applications for the 2013 Osteopathic Health Policy Intern (OHPI) Program until February 24, 2012. Osteopathic medical students who are interested in health policy and would like to gain first-hand experience in Washington, DC, are encouraged to apply.
OHPIs spend two months with the AACOM government relations team and gain a deeper understanding of health policy development and implementation, meet with federal agency officials and attend hearings on Capitol Hill. OHPIs also will develop a policy paper and prepare a poster for display at the AACOM Annual Meeting. AACOM provides interns a stipend, housing, and local business travel expenses, and makes every practical effort to identify the two-month period that works best for each individual.
