AACOM Leadership Featured on Discovery Fit & Health’s “Untold Stories of the ER”

On Saturday, January 7, AACOM Associate Vice President for Medical Education Tyler Cymet, DO, (pictured at left) was featured on a special osteopathic-centered episode of “Untold Stories of the ER” on Discovery Fit & Health. The premier of the “Pipe in the Head” episode featured three reenacted real-life emergency room cases; one involving a conscious man with two-inch pipe through his head, another showcasing a bride experiencing unstoppable bleeding, and a third with two prisoners from rival gangs in the emergency room at the same time. The “Pipe in the Head” and the “Bleeding Bride” segments both featured DOs.

Dr. Cymet flew up to Vancouver, British Columbia, to film his scenes for the “Bleeding Bride” dramatization this past summer. Cymet played an emergency room physician, a role he also holds off screen.  The “Pipe in the Head” dramatization featured Dr. Jay Coates, Jr., an osteopathic physician with the University of Nevada Health System.
