Please join the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) in thanking and congratulating long-time senior staff member Nancy C. Cioffari, Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, as she begins the next chapter in her life.
Nancy Cioffari began her career at AACOM in February 1983. Since then, she has dedicated her time to ensuring the organization’s success, providing careful stewardship over the association’s finance and administrative operations, and helping AACOM develop into the flourishing organization that it is today. Among her many contributions to the organization was serving as Interim President several years ago while a national search was underway for a permanent President, serving as staff liaison for the Council of Fiscal Officers since 1996, and creating the FASHP Council of Financial and Administrative Officers over 10 years ago. Ms. Cioffari will officially step down on July 13, 2012, and plans to spend time visiting family, including her grandson, and friends, traveling, exploring new interests, and initially assisting AACOM in a consultation capacity through the transition.
Ms. Cioffari has served as an invaluable resource to internal and external colleagues. Her guidance, passion and energy will be sorely missed.
We are pleased to announce that effective July 17, John E. Roane, Jr., currently Chief Operating Officer at the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges, will join AACOM as Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Roane not only will oversee AACOM’s finance and administrative operations, but also will be responsible for enhancing internal organizational processes and infrastructure as well as maximizing departmental collaboration. More information about Mr. Roane will be shared in our next newsletter.
