Macy Foundation Awards Grant to Fund Interprofessional Education Repository

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), in collaboration with the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), was awarded a $100,110 board grant from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation this past January. Provided under the Foundation’s “Interprofessional Education and Teamwork” theme, the grant will fund an effort to develop a repository for interprofessional education (IP Portal) and collaborative practice resources. The outcome is projected to include more than 15 peer-reviewed learning resources connected to the core interprofessional competencies and available through the AAMC’s MedEdPORTAL. These materials will be free to the health professions community, including educators, students and practitioners, in an effort to support the development of interprofessional curricula and team-based care.

Cecilia Rokusek, EdD, RD, Executive Director of the Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, will be AACOM’s representative on the IP Portal advisory committee.
