The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) will be hosting its first Interprofessional Faculty Development Institute for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety of the year on May 20-22, 2013, at the Dulles Hyatt in Herndon, Virginia. This is the third development institute conducted by IPEC, with a fourth institute being planned for the summer. Although registration space for the May event is full, interested individuals may join the waitlist. Details for that event have not yet been announced.
At the IPEC Interprofessional Faculty Development Institute for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, faculty from across the health education continuum come together to explore how to incorporate quality improvement and patient safety content into their current curricula. The overall goal of the institute is to create medical education faculty champions who will return to their home institutions and use the lessons they gathered to help develop faculty teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement an interprofessional education plan focused on quality improvement and patient safety.
