AACOM congratulates Adrienne White-Faines, MPA, who stepped into her new role as Executive Director of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) on July 21. As AOA Executive Director, Ms. White-Faines is responsible for implementing the AOA’s strategic agenda, which supports the organization’s members and its commitment to promoting public health, advancing scientific research, and serving as the accrediting agency for osteopathic medical schools, hospitals, and health care facilities.
Before joining the AOA, Ms. White-Faines served as Vice President of Health Initiatives and Advocacy at the American Cancer Society (ACS), Illinois Division. Prior to her work with ACS, she served as Chief Operating Officer at Renwal Emergency Medical Services, a health care management consulting firm for hospitals and physicians, and at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Ms. White-Faines has also worked as a health strategist with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation.
Ms. White-Faines received her Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California. She is also an active member of several local and national nonprofit organizations, including the Erikson Institute, American Field Service-USA, and the Leadership Greater Chicago, of which she is a fellow.
Ms. White-Faines succeeds John B. Crosby, JD, who announced his plan to retire in January. Mr. Crosby served as AOA Executive Director since 1997.
On July 25, Ms. White-Faines met with AACOM President and CEO Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH, at the AACOM offices in Chevy Chase, MD. She received a tour of the office and met several members of AACOM’s leadership and staff during her visit.
