The application cycle for the 2015 AACOM Osteopathic Health Policy Intern (OHPI) program is now open. Osteopathic medical students who are interested in health policy and would like to gain firsthand experience in Washington, DC are encouraged to apply.

Interns spend two months with the AACOM government relations team to gain a deeper understanding of health policy development and implementation. The internship includes:

  • Developing a policy paper
  • Preparing a poster for display at the AACOM Annual Meeting
  • Meeting with federal agency officials and attending hearings on Capitol Hill

AACOM provides interns a stipend, housing and local business travel expenses, and makes every practical effort to identify the two-month period that works best for each individual.
