AACOM and its partners in the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) held the 2013 Fall IPEC Institute October 7-9 in Chicago, IL. The three-day, sold-out event drew 175 attendees from 41 different health professions institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico, and offered participants a comprehensive introduction to interprofessional education (IPE) and its core competencies, as well as an overview of the basics and best practices of IPE development.

The 2013 Fall IPEC Institute was the fourth development institute conducted by IPEC, a group comprised of six organizations including AACOM, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), and the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH).

Upcoming IPEC events include a Winter IPEC Institute, planned for January 12-15, 2014 in Herndon, VA and a Spring IPEC Institute, planned for May 2014. Further details on these events are to be announced.
