PNWU-COM Names Interim Dean

Thomas Scandalis, DO, has been appointed to serve as Interim Dean for the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine (PNWU-COM), effective September 16. Dr. Scandalis replaces Anita Showalter, DO, who has served as PNWU-COM Acting Dean since July 25, following Robyn Phillips-Madson, DO, MPH, who stepped down from her position as dean of the college on July 22. Dr. Phillips-Madson will continue to serve as a professor of family medicine at PNWU-COM and will function as program chair for the AACOM 2014 Annual Conference. In this new role, Dr. Scandalis will represent PNWU-COM as a member of the AACOM Board of Deans.

TouroCOM-NY Appoints Campus Dean at New Middletown, NY Campus

The Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine-New York (TouroCOM-NY) has appointed Kenneth J. Steier, DO, MBA, MPH, MHA, MGH, to serve as the Campus Dean of the college’s Middletown, NY campus, effective August 19. Prior to his appointment as the Middletown Campus Dean, Dr. Steier served TouroCOM-NY as Clinical Dean and Professor since July 2011.
