Intended to appeal to both students and professionals in the osteopathic medical education community, the first ever AACOM Audio Series podcast was launched by AACOM on May 1. The inaugural episode is a special Q&A session on the unification of graduate medical education accreditation featuring former COSGP National Chair Tara Blalock-Hughes, AuD, student at the Des Moines University college of Osteopathic Medicine (DMU-COM), and AACOM President and CEO Stephen C. Shannon, DO, MPH. This new audio series is meant to serve as a platform for the exploration of new issues and trends in osteopathic medical education, and is designed to be easily accessible via computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Future topics will include staff interviews about AACOM strategic initiatives under the new 2014-2018 Strategic Framework (see Dr. Shannon’s column this issue); gamification and other classroom innovations; and highlights of data and trends coming from AACOM’s research division. We welcome input and ideas on topics and guests, so please send your suggestions to, and stay tuned!
