AACOM’s leadership and Board of Deans are pleased to welcome the new Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Auburn (VCOM-Auburn) to its membership. VCOM received notice of VCOM-Auburn’s full accreditation from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) on May 5.

VCOM began construction of its Auburn location in February, which consists of a 90,000-square-foot building adjacent to Auburn University in Auburn, AL. The facility will have classrooms, small-group learning rooms, laboratories, and a technology center. VCOM-Auburn will welcome its inaugural class of osteopathic medical students in the fall of 2015 under the leadership of Founding Dean Elizabeth Palmarozzi, DO.

With the addition of VCOM-Auburn to AACOM’s membership, VCOM now has three fully-accredited campuses in three different states—Auburn, AL; Spartanburg, SC (VCOM-Carolinas Campus); and Blacksburg, VA (VCOM-Virginia Campus)—and the United States is now home to 30 colleges of osteopathic medicine at 42 locations in 28 states.
