On December 9, 2013, AACOM welcomed Lisa M. Cole, MBA, as its new Director of Communications and Marketing. In her new role, Ms. Cole will exercise her more than 20 years of experience in communications and information management to head the development and implementation of an organization-wide communications strategy to advance AACOM’s public policy agenda and support the association’s mission to promote excellence and innovation in osteopathic medical education, research, and service. Through collaborative work with staff and leadership at AACOM, its member colleges, and other affiliate organizations, Ms. Cole will lead the association’s efforts to expand public awareness of osteopathic medical education and increase AACOM’s visibility on a national level.
Ms. Cole comes to AACOM from her previous position as the Director of Communication at the National Cancer Institute’s Center for Biomedical Informatics & IT. She succeeds Wendy Fernando, former head of the AACOM Communications and Marketing Department, who resigned from the position in October 2012.
