The Osteopathic Examiner (The OE) has just gone biannual, and will now only be published in July and December. The newsletter has also added two new sections: “Osteopathic Medical Students ‘Facts in Five’” and “National Faculty News.”

The OE was first published in print in 1999 as the quarterly newsletter of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners’ (NBOME). The then print-only publication was primarily focused on reaching NBOME’s external stakeholder groups, including college of osteopathic medicine (COM) faculty and administrators, affiliate organizations, osteopathic medical students, residency program directors, residents, and subject matter experts who comprise the NBOME National Faculty.  Since its initial publish date, the publication has grown and evolved in a number of ways, including adding new themed sections, expanding its scope of content, and going digital. The OE was the first and only outward facing newsletter produced by the NBOME. Archives of THE OE (2011-current) are available on the NBOME website.
