The AOA Match program places graduating medical students into osteopathic graduate medical education positions for their postdoctoral training. The application process for this year’s program began in June 2013 and ended on January 24, 2014, with the majority of student applications received by the AOA-recommended date of November 1, 2013. More information on the AOA Match program can be found on the AOA Match Program webpage.

This was also a notable year for osteopathic medical school graduates seeking residency spots in the 2014 National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Of the 2,738 osteopathic medical school applicants participating in the NRMP, 2,127 (or 77.7 percent) were matched. This is the highest percentage of matched osteopathic applicants in the NRMP to date, up 2.9 percent from 2013
