AACOM has extended the deadline for applications to the 2015 Osteopathic Health Policy Intern (OHPI) Program. Applications will be accepted until Monday, April 28, 2014. Current osteopathic medical students who are interested in health policy and would like to gain firsthand experience in Washington, DC are strongly encouraged to apply.

Interns spend two months with the AACOM government relations team to gain a deeper understanding of health policy development and implementation. The internship includes:

  • Completing a health policy paper based on the initial health policy interest paper
  • Developing a thorough understanding of an area of particular health policy interest, as well as of health policy in general
  • Meeting with federal agency officials and attending hearings on Capitol Hill

AACOM provides interns a stipend, housing and local business travel expenses, and makes every practical effort to identify the two-month period that works best for each individual.
