Record Number of DO Students Awarded 2015 Arnstein Minority Student Scholarship

n Wednesday, August 5, AACOM announced the recipients of the 2015 Sherry R. Arnstein Minority Student Scholarship. Awardees for this program are selected based on a rigorous evaluation of their credentials, applications, and personal essays. Of the more than 80 applications submitted to the program this year, nine outstanding osteopathic medical students were selected to receive scholarships.

AACOM congratulates the following 2015 Sherry R. Arnstein Minority Student Scholarship Awardees:

  • Shcarry Chatmon, Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM)
  • Brett Friedler, Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVU-COM)
  • Sofia Funes, Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-COM)
  • Riley McMurtrie, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Virginia Campus (VCOM-VC)
  • Emily Molina, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Carolinas Campus (VCOM-CC)
  • Chike Olisa Nwokolo, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM)
  • Sade’ Diahann Randall, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM)
  • Diana Alyce Rivers, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, New York (TouroCOM-NY)
  • Samantha Stewart, Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-COM)

Named after former AACOM Executive Director and minority civil rights leader Sherry R. Arnstein, the Sherry R. Arnstein Minority Student Scholarship Program aims to recognize and support underrepresented minority students at AACOM’s member colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs).
