The 2017 OHPI Program application cycle will open on Monday, November 2, 2015; it will close on Friday, February 12, 2016.
AACOM’s OHPI Program provides the opportunity for selected student interns to develop a thorough understanding and operational knowledge of how federal health care and education policies are developed, and how to effectively influence public policy formulation and implementation. The interns are selected through a highly competitive process.
Visit AACOM’s OHPI Spotlight web page to read about the experiences of past OHPI interns.
Selected interns will each participate in a two-month internship with AACOM’s Government Relations Department. During this time, interns will gain a deeper understanding of health care and education policies as they meet with federal agency policymakers, work on various advocacy projects, and attend meetings and hearings on Capitol Hill. Furthermore, each intern will develop a policy paper and presentation within a particular area of interest at the end of their term.
