Kenneth A. Heiles, DO, Named ARCOM Dean

The Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (ARCOM), one of AACOM’s two new member colleges, has named Kenneth A. Heiles, DO, Dean.

Dr. Heiles is the current Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education, and ARCOM Dean. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Heiles served as the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM).

Dr. Heiles has been active in various local, state, and national organizations. He has twice served as President of the Arkansas Osteopathic Medical Association, and is past President of the National American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). He is a past Chair of the ACOFP’s Committee on Education and Evaluation, and serves on the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)’s Bureau of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education Development.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Heiles has been, and remains dedicated to the training of primary care physicians in serving, primarily, the underserved regions of the country.

Robyn Phillips-Madson, DO, MPH, UIWSOM Founding Dean

Robyn Phillips-Madson, DO, MPH, is the Founding Dean, Chief Academic Officer, and Associate Professor of Family Medicine of the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM).

Dr. Phillips-Madson was instrumental in the full accreditation of the Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine (PNWU-COM) where she held several leadership positions. In 2014 she served as program chair for the AACOM’s Annual Conference, which focused on the keys to the successful transformation of osteopathic medical education curricula.

“I would like UIW School of Medicine to be a place where all the members of the medical education community are empowered to achieve high levels of academic, professional, and personal success,” said Dr. Phillips-Madson.

Dr. Phillips-Madson currently serves as Board Treasurer of DOCARE International, and is a Co-Founder and Board Member of Reach Beyond Borders, a non-profit organization whose primary activity is to equip and empower organizations and people internationally.
