In its inaugural year, the esteemed U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Public Health Excellence in Interprofessional Education Collaboration Award is a joint effort between the USPHS and the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) to recognize interprofessional health education teams that have significantly impacted the community through multidisciplinary collaboration on a program geared toward improving health knowledge, awareness, and behavior.
Interprofessional health teams are evaluated by their contribution towards the tenets of public health promotion through multidisciplinary collaboration among health professionals and the community. This partnership is the cornerstone of accessible, safe, impactful, high quality community health care. This award will recognize existing health professional school-based collaborations and initiatives that demonstrate the vision for team-based, community-oriented practice.
