  • There are 26 colleges of osteopathic medicine, four branch campuses and four remote teaching sites (as of fall 2011) offering instruction in 25 states.
  • 20 are private colleges; 6 are public
  • Several new schools in the planning stages:
    • Campbell University College of Osteopathic Medicine (North Carolina)
    • Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Indiana)
    • Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine
