This glossary presents important and frequently used words, terms and phrases of the osteopathic profession. The glossary offers consensus of a large segment of the osteopathic profession and serves to standardize terminology.

This glossary should be useful to students of osteopathic medicine and helpful to authors and other professionals in understanding and making proper use of osteopathic vocabulary.
