Two universities that house colleges of osteopathic medicine are included on The Scientist magazine’s annual list of the “Best Places to Work in Academia.”  Forty U.S. universities and research centers earned rankings based on 37 criteria in eight areas. Midwestern University, with locations in Illinois and Arizona, ranked sixth on the list; University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center ranked 14^th; and Michigan State University ranked 38^th. The institutions were selected based on their strengths in areas including tenure and promotion, teaching and mentoring, pay, peers, and infrastructure and environment.
