AACOM’s Office of Medical Education is seeking proposals for medical education research mini-grants for up to $5,000 in one of three areas identified below. While collaborative, multi-institution research studies are most appropriate for these question areas, this mini-grant could support a pilot study or serve as the basis for seeking matching funds at individual institutions.
(1) Identification of effective practices in the development and assessment of the seven core competencies.
(2) Integration of real-world experiences into training for the core competencies.
(3) Identification of the unique benefits of osteopathic medical education.
Research Proposal Deadline: January 5, 2009
Mini-Grants Awarded: February 10, 2009
Projects must be completed for presentation at the AACOM Annual Meeting in April 2010. Grantees will be expected to communicate their research outcomes by either submission of a document for publication or presentation at AACOM’s annual meeting.
