AACOM Medical Education Research Mini-Grants Announced 

In early February, AACOM announced the recipients of its first medical education research mini-grants of $5,000, issued to support OME research in (1) Identification of best practices in the teaching/learning and assessment of the seven core competencies, (2) Integration of real-world experiences into training for the core competencies and (3) Identification of the unique benefits of osteopathic medical education.

Recipients and their projects include:

    Title:  Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment: Assessing medical student beliefs about OMT before entering medical school to their utilization of OMT in their clinical practice

    Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
    Title: Developing Valid and Reliable Instrument to Asses the Seven Osteopathic Competencies in the Pre-Clinical (COMS1 and OMS2) years
