More than 1,500 osteopathic physicians and medical education students participated in the AOA’s premiere advocacy event, DO Day on Capitol Hill, last week in Washington, DC. Approximately 1,000 of the participants were students.
They joined physicians in nearly 440 congressional meetings, the major focus of which was the Physician Workforce Act of 2009 (HR 914), which aims to expand the nation’s graduate medical education training capacity.
According to the AOA, this year’s DO Day on Capitol Hill was the largest ever.
