AACOM is pleased to announce the selection of the inaugural members of its recently launched National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME). The Academy was designed to develop a community of outstanding educators who have met rigorous standards of academic scholarship. Each Academy Fellow is inducted for a five-year period, during which the individual serves as a leader and mentor for academic scholarship in the osteopathic medical education profession.
The NAOME is the first national health professions education academy and is modeled after the Baylor College of Medicine’s Academy of Distinguished Educators.
The first class of Fellows, listed below, was selected following a rigorous application and selection process, including the training of selectors and oversight of the selection process by Nancy Searle, EdD, Director, Baylor Academy of Distinguished Educators, and Convenor, AAMC Academies Collaborative. Visit the AACOM web site for information on NAOME.
NAOME’s inaugural members will be inducted into the Academy in a ceremony at AACOM’s Awards Banquet on Friday, April 17, during the association’s Annual Meeting. Please join AACOM and the entire osteopathic medical education community in congratulating these inaugural NAOME members on their outstanding achievement:
