AACOM Associate Director of Application Services Gina Moses, MEd, recently provided updates on the current trends in osteopathic medical education applications at the
National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions’ regional conferences in Birmingham, AL., Philadelphia, PA., Cincinnatti, OH and Santa Fe, NM. In particular, she highlighted the growing interest in osteopathic medical colleges, describing the recent significant increases in applications to the schools (see item on applications, above).
During each of the sessions, Ms. Moses asked the pre-health professions advisors in the audience to stand if they had advised students who later applied to and matriculated at one of the nation's 25 osteopathic medical colleges. At each session, every advisor in the room rose to their feet, demonstrating the growing national awareness and attractiveness of osteopathic medical education.
