The Society of Osteopathic Medical Educators (SOME) is currently working on three major projects.

The Core Competency Task Force is developing a web resource to regularly report on its projects as well as to serve as a repository for submitted tools and materials related to the teaching and assessment of the core competencies.

The inaugural group of Fellows inducted into the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME) is currently reviewing the protocols for the development of faculty portfolios and selection of the 2010 Fellows. 

The Student Career Advisement web resource is being reviewed internally.

The outcomes of these working groups will be announced in a Med Ed Update in July.

COSGP will next meet July 14 – 16 in Chicago for its Summer Business Meeting, prior to the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) House of Delegates Meeting.

Upcoming Meetings

The Assembly of Presidents (AOP) will convene November 3, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, at the 114^th Annual AOA Convention and Scientific Seminar in New Orleans.

The Council of Fiscal Officers (CFO) will convene November 2, 7:30 am – 1:00 pm, at the 114^th Annual AOA Convention and Scientific Seminar.

The Council of Development and Alumni Relations Professionals (Dev-Alum) will meet November 3, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, at the 114^th Annual AOA Convention and Scientific Seminar.

The Council of Osteopathic Medical Admissions Officers (COMAO) and the Marketing and Communications Advisory Council (MAC) will also meet at the AOA Convention and Scientific Seminar in New Orleans; dates and times will be announced when they are confirmed.
