New on the AACOM Web site!

“In their Own Words: A Snapshot of the Osteopathic Medical Student” is a new section of the AACOM web site that features brief statements from current and recent osteopathic medical education students. In these statements, the students recount their paths to osteopathic medicine and their experiences at their respective colleges. The section is intended to inspire and educate potential medical students.

The web site also features a newly enhanced “Fast Facts” section. Several data sets have been expanded to provide a data summary as well as longitudinal data on various aspects of osteopathic medical college applicants, students, and graduates.  For example, see the Data Summary for AACOMAS Applicants to Osteopathic Medical Schools (pdf), and the corresponding Source Data for Applicants by Gender (.xls) and Applicants by Race and Ethnicity (.xls).

In July alone, nearly 2,000 individuals viewed the Fast Facts page.
