AACOM and NSU Host Free Interactive Call on H1N1 Virus

On Monday, September 21, AACOM and Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Center for Bioterrorism and All-Hazards Preparedness (CBAP) hosted an interactive, educational conference call to provide participants with advice on managing the potentially widespread effects of the H1N1 virus. More than 100 participants, representing at least 14 of the nation's colleges of osteopathic medicine, participated in the conference call.

Leonard A. Levy, DPM, MPH, Assistant Dean for Education, Planning and Research at NSU-COM and CBAP Director, assisted with program development and acted as the call moderator. John Pellosie, DO, MPH, Interim Chair of Preventive Medicine at NSU-COM, presented “When Pigs Flu,” which is now available for download on the AACOM web site. Participants raised issues and asked questions of the CBAP experts, who also shared NSU-COM’s Pandemic Influenza Plan.

For more information, and to view the presentation and listen to the audio call, visit AACOM's online H1N1 resource center at:  http://www.aacom.org/resources/other/h1n1/Pages/presentations.aspx.
