January 10, 2018

We’re thrilled to welcome you to AACOM as a valued member of the former Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME), now the Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators (AOGME). All AODME members, including you, have been transitioned to an AOGME membership. This transition took place January 1, after months of careful planning and consideration. AOGME seeks to build and grow AODME’s role as the premier professional membership solely focused on supporting and advancing osteopathic GME.

Whether you are a longstanding member of the former AODME, or just recently joined, we are excited about the opportunity to provide you with a comprehensive range of membership services to meet your professional needs. Please take a moment to visit our AOGME web page at www.aacom.org/aogme. This content is your guide to the AOGME membership experience as you begin navigating the many programs, resources, and opportunities that AACOM has to offer.

Keep an eye out for additional communications regarding the integration of AODME within AACOM, including your updated online account information.

I would also like to invite you to join us for Educating Leaders 2018, the AACOM Annual Conference, April 18-21 in Washington, DC. This year’s event will feature a holistic program highlighting a broad array of topic areas, including a focus on graduate medical education (GME) content targeted towards topics of interest for AOGME members like you. This includes informational sessions for new program directors, single accreditation system (SAS) updates, panel discussions on ACGME applications and federal GME funding opportunities, an osteopathic recognition workshop, and much more. Visit the Educating Leaders website, www.aacom.org/educatingleaders, to learn more. Register by Thursday, February 8 to save $80.

We’ve been working diligently over the past few months to ensure that the integration and transition of AODME into AACOM goes smoothly. However, we understand that you may still have questions about your membership and how it will operate, and we are here to help. Please direct inquiries and comments to Alegneta Long, AOGME Executive Director, at 301-657-7881 or aogme@aacom.org. You can also visit us online at www.aacom.org/aogme for additional information and updates.

We are delighted to have you as an AOGME member at AACOM, and we look forward to serving your future needs.

Warm Regards,

Stephen Shannon
