As we approach the ERAS opening date for when programs begin reviewing applications on October 21, AOGME is providing an additional opportunity for programs to interact with potential candidates through the second AACOM/AOGME residency fair on October 9, 1:00 PM-9:00 PM ET. With over 1,000 registered students to date, the fair will give programs an forum to clarify their selection criteria, share information and showcase their program to fourth and third year medical students. The first AACOM/AOGME residency fair was held in August and featured a day-long advising session for students, over 70 institutions and 3,300 medical students. View this webinar, held on June 30, to hear about an innovative approach to providing a virtual online experience for prospective residents by the Eglin Air Force Base Family Medicine Residency. The "Virtual View" program's goal is to facilitate better informed decisions by 4th year medical students regarding audition rotations and rank lists. As programs move to a virtual interviewing process due to the COVID-19 pandemic and limitations to travel, this timely webinar provided an opportunity to learn from a program that has already established an innovative online experience for prospective residents to gain insights about their program and get a sense of their fit.
