Title: Understanding and Using the ACGME Resident Surveys to Improve Your Residency Program

Description: Join us for a webinar featuring Dr. Deborah S. Clements, Chair of Family & Community Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and Dr. W. Fred Miser, Director of The Ohio State University Family and Community Medicine Residency Program, as they explain the content areas and structure of the required annual ACGME Resident Survey. Drs. Clements and Miser will focus on their own experience with the survey over their combined 60 years of experience as program directors. They will discuss ways to prepare residents for the survey while ensuring compliance with the ACGME requirements and will also discuss the implications of the survey on program accreditation. Participants will be encouraged to discuss any program changes as a result of the survey during their annual ACGME Accreditation Data System update.

He will discuss the biopsychosocial model of medicine, how learners evolve through medical school, the physician charter, unprofessional behavior and how professional identity formation can mitigate those behaviors. Dr. Novack will discuss the elements of professional formation, such as self-awareness, reflective practice, personal growth and maturity, and what faculty can teach, learn and role-model to enhance professional identity formation.
