“Like many prospective medical students, I grew up aspiring to become a physician.  Due to my rocky undergraduate performance, I believed it would never happen.   After my son’s birth in 2008, I began to dream again.  When he was five months old, I returned to school.   After a lot of hard work and dedication, I was accepted to LMU-DCOM.

“For me, osteopathic medicine means a place where differences are valued.  Patients are thought of as unique, whole beings.  I love LMU-DCOM because the college practices what it preaches. The differences I bring as a nontraditional student are valued.  I was more than an application and numbers; much like my patients will be more than history forms and lab values.

“In the future, I hope to practice in primary care and teach the next generation of osteopathic physicians.  It is because of LMU-DCOM that my dreams will come true.”
