“My undergraduate studies in Biology and Religious Studies taught me that there is much more to a patient than the science underlying a disease, and it was the mind, body, spirit philosophy of osteopathic medicine that drew me to the profession. My multicultural background and experience with overseas missions have honed in me a passion for medical missions in developing countries. Thus, from the moment that I understood VCOM's mission to educate doctors for underserved areas, I knew that I belonged at VCOM. At VCOM, I love being part of an osteopathic family whose vision extends beyond training physicians that will take medicine into the next century. At its heart and soul, VCOM is dedicated to the very essence of medicine: helping those most in need. I know that my VCOM education will provide me with the tools I need to impact this world and one day serve as a missionary surgeon overseas.”
