“My experiences as a Certified Nursing Assistant helped me to understand the importance of the relationship between a health care provider and patient. Osteopathic medicine exemplifies a blend of traditional principles that focus on the patient and holistic care with the best that modern medicine currently offers. I find this philosophy aligns well with my own view of medicine. My desire to practice this type of medicine led me to UNTHSC/TCOM. UNTHSC/TCOM has amazing faculty that promote the success of their students. I’ve noticed the school’s pursuit to further improve upon the outstanding education that I am receiving on a daily basis. UNTHSC/TCOM ‘s emphasis on patient care, and its mission to serve the community are evidenced by a program called Homeless Outreach for Medical Education (HOME), which provides hands-on experience for students to interact with patients while performing clinical exams. I hope to utilize the training I receive from UNTHSC/TCOM to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.”
